DOes anyone have an experience with Gason Mason in DC area? They offer a fairly easier MA program both distance/on campus classes, and have strong contacts with CIS, the international school recruiter.

I'm looking in to starting a M.ED program soon...this lots like a very flexible one. But George Mason aint Georgetown.

I don't have any personal experience with it, but the key thing is to make sure you will earn state certification as part of the process. Unfortunately, a degree, or even experience, alone won't qualify you to teach.

For example, a teacher friend of mine recently moved from Texas to Utah. She had a M.Ed. (although no B.Ed.), Texas certification, and had been teaching in Texas for 5 years. In Utah, they told her she had to go back to earn a B.Ed. (two more years of classes) before they would let her in front of a classroom to do the exact same job she had been doing for 5 years. Of course if you are going overseas you don't have to worry about this as any state's certificate will do, but it goes to show you how picky people can be about having the proper certification.

Yes, the Goerge Mason, John Hopkins, and George Washington all help you through the state certification process in 1 year.

Thanks for the info!
