Does anyone know the differences, if any, in courses and certification recognition between TEFL and the CambridgeTeaching Knowledge Test Course and TKT certification? Thank you. |

The TKT is the Teaching Knowledge Test. You can self study for it or you can take a preparation course for it. The TKT is designed and produced by the University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations which is part of UCLES (University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate). The same people who produce the CELTA.

The TKT was designed to offer flexiblity and accessiblity for candidates, therefore it does not include a compulsory course component or compulsory teaching practice. However it is likely that centres and other institutions will wish to offer courses for TKT preparation and these may also include some teaching practice, if desired. It should be noted that TKT test teaching knowledge rather than teaching ability. |
For more information about the TKT see www.CambrdgeESOL.org |
