Utter drivel. I haven't worked in the UK since 1999. Live away from home long enough and your ideas about the mystical homeland will become blurry.

What is a job? A means of supporting yourself. What country you are in is irrelevant.

I have a real job in my own country. It has been useful to pay off my student loans. I fold, spindle and mutilate paperwork. After working abroad teaching English, this work, although it pays so much better and provides retirement savings, blows. And I like the people I work with. I am heading back out in 2007, most likely to China. Most likely for good. I got more satisfaction from teaching, even with the k-rap that comes with it. And I enjoy experiencing different cultures, even if we are all the same.

I agree with Wailing Imam. The things about the US I used to favorably compare to foreignlandia no longer hold sway. Except for the paper towels, but I can get over that.
