I was wondering if anyone could help. I'm moving to Taiwan from Fukuoka (trying to get a job before I go), and the only discount tickets I can find are 10 days fixed (meaning that you will have to leave Taiwan in just ten days). 30 days fixed will set you back 60,000 yen. I'd really like to get a 60 day visa though, but that would cost over 100,000 yen!

I am thinking of the possibility of going there via two ferries, though it will take me almost three days to get there. Does anyone know the restrictions on the Naha to Taipei ferry (can you get a round trip ticket, etc.) or of any other way to get there (via Pusan, perhaps?)?

Thanks in advance.

Philip

I am taking the ferry to Taiwan in April for a vacation. You need to have a return ticket to show them or they won't let you on the boat. They made this very clear to me on the phone when I called to make a reservation.

The 60 day visa might be automatic, if that is a normal tourist visa length, regardless of what your plane ticket states. I have never travelled anywhere in the world and they gave me a 10 day tourist visa; there is only one tourist visa and it has a specific time period.
