Just wondering what's going on with some of these employers posting repeat job ads. My partner and I were interviewed by Nichibei for what turned out to be only a few hours' work at a not particularly good hourly rate and were told they'd received 160 CVs and were interviewing 30 or so people. We hear nothing from them afterwards, and two weeks later the same ad re-appears in the paper. You mean to tell me they couldn't find someone suitable out of all those applicants? And the same story with ECS: they spent an hour apiece grilling each of us, told us about the vast number of applicants they'd had to spend so long interviewing, and again the same ad is placed in the "Japan Times".

Fellow job hunters in Tokyo, your experiences please!

strange.
Generally I hear good things about Nichibei in Osaka.
My girlfriend works for them so I will ask her about the Shinjuku school.

I interviewed with ECS. It was a 2-part process with interview and application process the first day. If they deem you suitable to that point, you're called back for a lesson demo. After getting through both parts they offered me a position. The pay was decent, 5000 yen an hour if I recall correctly but the positions turned out to be a lot further than they had originally implied. I found that sort of dodgy and ended up turning them down. It was something like 2+ hours each way to the companies for a 2 hour lesson. Overall, they didn't seem that bad, especially if you live within a reasonable commuting distance. It just wasn't for me. Good luck.
