i have a limited teaching experience in a small school in vietnam qualifications were not required. however i wish to get qualified and head to china to teach in a proper environment. i would like to teach in other asian countries.
which qualification is the best one for me to have in order to obtain good jobs in asian countries. mainly china, vietnam and thailand.
is the online TESOL qualification any good? it only costs 300 dollars but a friend told me it is quite useless, is this true?
in short..... what would be my cheapest and best options?
thanks for your help!

The two well recognized certifications are the CELTA and the Trinity College TESOL. They are both one-month (if taken full-time) programs with a teaching practicum as a component.

The price varies, but in Asian countries it is in the $1200-1500 range. A comparable course in the US would be over $3k, once you factor in accommodations.

It would be best to take the class in the country that you wish to teach in since the course instructors may be able to offer unique insights into the learners from that particular country. The school that hosts the class will usually offer placement assistance or offer you a job outright. These classes are often used by schools as a vehicle for teacher recruitment.
