Please don't get screwed over like I did at this poor-paying, joke of an English school. I was the only native speaker on staff, and they hired me with the promise of writing me a contract to get my work visa. They strung me along for a month about the contract, and when they never wrote me one, I was forced to quit and take another (better!) job in order to keep from having to leave and enter the country again. They also failed to mention to me that I need boletas to get paid (which I couldn't get since I didn't have a work contract). When I went to them about my payment, they strung me along. Their accountant conveniently would 'make a mistake' and send too little money, or the wrong month. Six months after quitting, they still owe me $100.000 and are still stringing me along, saying that they'll call or email me when the money is ready, which never is.
Also, I've heard rumors that this institute was once under a different name and had problems because one month they didn't pay their teachers and they all sued. If anyone has any concrete info about this please let me know. I'm trying to gather enough information to either sue them myself or have bargaining ground to finally get my money.
Please help a fellow teacher out!!! |
