Anyone up for a beer either this coming Sunday or Monday night., Strange day I know but it is Winter Break for some of us. My school has a new teacher and I thought as it'll probably be a quiet night in town I'd see if we can get some sort of ex-pat pi** up.

Was a good night from what I remember, you should have come. Rolling Eyes

Cheers, but once bitten and all that... - anyway we thought you were probably just some phantom beer inviter/nutter.

I hope to be in Boemerang with one of your lot for the Calcutta Cup on Saturday - if you fancy coming (and if you really exist of course).

Don't be embarrassed about it.. some of the greatest people in the world had poor memories.

i can't help but comment on the prices for beer at Guiness Pub. i popped in there last saturday to see what it was all about, and figured "when in Rome," and ordered a Guiness draft. I thought for sure i was getting the tourist price when the barkeep asked for 16.00 zlotych. i had to check the menu to see for myself, and sure enough, 16.00 per Guiness. I don't get it. How obscene. Although it was better tasting than any other Guiness I've ever had in the states, it was my first and my last at that bar. not to mention, my next beer was a Zywiec, and that cost 7.00. In every other bar I've been to thus far in Poland, I have not paid more than 5.00 for a half liter of Zywiec.

you couldn't be more wrong about that.

i've been walking aimlessly into bars for a few weeks now, and not one Zywiec draft over 5.00. for real. i've got a great little neighborhood watering hole 8 minutes' walk from me, really nice place that I just happened to pass by a few nights ago, and, you guessed it......5.00 per draft.

There's a pub near me that does beer for 3.80. It's got no seats though and I think there's a minimum age limit of around 60. Nice plastic tumblers too.

i must confess......

i walked into somewhere tonight.....and paid 6.00.

oh well.

either way, paying 16.00 for any beer, is completely obsurd.

I wonder if anywhere will be showing the Newcastle match on Thursday night? Does Boemerang have Channel 5? Or maybe that overpriced Guinness place is a good bet?
