Hi all -

I've learned that my background gives me an off-chance to work at a a university.

What is the best way to get a c.v. to the right department from the u.s.? I've looked at a number of university sites online and no luck finding the best link.

If this is a really silly question....please, save the laughs til after you answer! Laughing

Barring that, what is a good way to find out which are the better language schools? I'm not aiming for a particular region

Many Thanks

Dominique

Usually the HR department (recursos humanos) if any university is your best bet.

Do a search on this board for schools. I could tell you which schools to avoid in San Luis Potosi (not the most appealing part of Mexico).

There are a lot of TEFL job boards out there and many universities in Mexico occasionally advertise on them.. Most Mexican schools do not place ads on Dave's because it costs too much. Cool
If you send a CV when they are not hiring you will not likely get any response and either it will sit in their in box until they have a position open, months later, or it will just get deleted. Some universities do not hire foreign teachers, some hire only foreign teachers. Some pay well, some do not.
You might want to take a langauge school job in a part of Mexico you are interested in, then look to move up to a university job after 6 months or a year, I think you will have better luck getting you CV into the right hands if you are in the country.

At the Tec de Monterrey, you should apply to the director of the department that youre interested in. Send a resume and follow up with a telephone call or three Wink

I'm curious to know what you mean by "my background".
