I am going to Nepal next month and I am planning on going to China from there at the end of August. I would like to get a job as a teacher in China. Please could somebody give me some advice? Do you think I should try and secure a job before I leave for Nepal, or could I organise it all from Nepal via e-mail? Or should I just go to China and find a job while Im there and if I do this then would I have to leave China again to get the visa? Also while I have been looking for jobs I have been asked to send a copy of my passport but somebody told me that it is illegal to make copies of passports, is this true? If it isnt then is it safe to send copies of your passport?
Thanks for all your help |

WEverything you have "heard" is correct - the true, the false and the in-between, so hurry up, girl, and make up your own mind as to how to go about finding a job in China.
You will need some cash to live in China before you start working there... Have you thought of that? |

Sending a copy of your passport means sending them a scanned image of your passport's bio page. |

i don't think you should secure a job in china so much ahead of time...i'd say it poses a slight risk, but there're many jobs available around...of course depending on where you are planning to go matters a little bit too
if i were you, i'd learn a bit about those cultural differences and i'd read on chinese culture a bit prior to your arrival...i wish i did that before i came in china (2001)..some and i myself did quite a bit suffer of the culture shock and i was amazed for a while anyway about the role i was expected to play in the chinese classrooms ...but that also depends on the kind of a job (and school) that you'll get too
good luck to ya
and
