Hi all:
I am considering working for a year in Taiwan and would really appreciate any advice you might have on where to work and what salary range I could expect. Below is a summary of what Ive done in the past:
1. BA (English Literature)
2. MBA (Management)
3. TESL/EFL Certificate (earned in 1997 so by now its quite dated)
IELTS examiner (formerly worked at the British Council in Hanoi)
4. Six years Teaching Experience (I mostly worked in Vietnam but I taught kids at Beths Bookstore in Taipei (Nan Jing East Road) for a couple of years. My experience in Taiwan is not current so I dont know what the situation is like there now for English teachers.)
5. My students seem to like me.
I would like to teach IELTS, TOEFL, GMAT and other standardized test preparation courses to adults. I am also qualified to teach Business English.
Children are lovely but would benefit more by being taught by someone other than myself.
If you know of any reputable schools that would consider hiring me, please let me know. As well, if anyone is interested in working in Vietnam I would be pleased to tell you what I know about teaching in Hanoi and Hai Phong. |
