Has anyone had any dealings with this company?
Received a summary of a very impressive deal they were offering [unlikely to say anything bad about themselves, I know], but how real is it? I've had some good experiences in China and a few near-misses plus a bad one. I'd like to avoid any further unnecessary hassle.
Unfortunately, so far, I've only found other ads and stuff from the company itself, no comments anywhere which makes me wonder. |

Forgive me for asking..but have you done a search on this site for "Perlandas"?
In all honesty, this is Perlandas is one topic that has been literally beaten to death around here....there have been so many threads on it and so much back-and-forth. |

| It seems a lot of info on schools can't be accessed anymore, so here's a recent minor experience I had with Perlandas. They listed a lot of well-paying jobs with only sketchy details, but ignored my questions two times in e-mails regarding ones I wanted to know more about and just asked me to consider other jobs. Also, nobody picked up when I phoned a couple of times, so I dropped them from consideration. |

| There is not much in the way of positive comments out there about Perlandes and Fenny but there are a fair share of negative comments. Nothing too serious mind you, but if you have had bad experiences before and are hoping to find a way to secure work without any problems you might be better served finding an alternative. |

| Have some of you ever done a search through all the threads for the ones where others have suggested "do a search?" Searches are a pointless waste of time. If you don't have any pointers (like me) to give to a newbie, don't tell him to do a search! If you've mastered the search function (unlike me), list a couple of links to past threads; that would certainly be more helpful! |

Yea, I'm sure some of these bad schools and recruiters really appreciate the lack of functionality in the search engine here. Doesn't Clark maintain a "Blacklist" on his site? If so, you would think he could list some of these reports there. Maybe with an addendum stating that the information is as reported on Dave's. What say you Clark? Might be helpful to many, and at the very least gonna get you some more traffic. If I knew you were doing it I wouldn't be against directing someone there. Just a thought.

From my previous posting on another site:
RE: Perlandes/Fenny
Stay away from this one. Perlandes is a guy who came to Shenzhen about 3-4 years ago, and Fenny is his Chinese girlfriend/office girl.
They will try to get you coming and going. He offers jobs that sound very intriguing, but then tries to pull bait and switch moves on you.
He wants you to sign a contract with him, AND give him a deposit. I offered him a 500rmb deposit and he laughed at me. He said he couldn't do anything for less than 1000rmb.
Then, upon getting you a job, your contract with him stipulates you would pay him anywhere from one month to two months "fee" for him getting you the job. He doesn't try to get the school to pay...YOU pay.
You will also have you meet him at his office...he won't travel to where you are. Also, he doesn't give you ANY information over the phone...you have to meet in person...
I wasted about 5 hours and the cost of travel in going to his place just to find out what his "deposit" was...when he could have told me over the phone and saved me the trip.
And the jobs he posts are all bogus. He tells you he has lots of people applying for those "prime" jobs, but he'll find "something" for you. I've noticed that those "prime" jobs always seem to be advertised over and over by him. Hmmm.
Legal Daily is his front. He supposedly works for this "newspaper" near the Citic Mall/Jusco in SZ that will "help you out" if you run into legal problems with your employer. I don't know of one single person who has been able to use this guy. He's not a lawyer...He's not a newspaper writer...He is simply a recruiter trying to rip people off who are gullible.
I'd definitely stay away from Perlandes Harris, Fenny, and Legal Daily.
