I woke up this morning to beautiful, shiny new STREET SIGNS on my tiny side street in Tarlıbası. Big pink, red and shiny signs! I thought maybe it was a fluke, but as I was walking to work I noticed ALL the side streets had signs! I am impressed! Not to mention that I learned my street is not called what I thought it was!

How about your neighborhood?

I first noticed them pop up in Gungoren a few weeks ago. They're kinda tiny but certainly an improvement over nothing at all.

Not in my neighbourhood, but I started noticing them a few weeks ago. Now they appear everywhere.

They do run Beyoglu, and not long ago we in Tunel got new street numbers-- which were totally different from our original street numbers. Our old street number signs are still tacked to the building, so I never know what to tell the delivery people. Our water still comes to #61 Blahblah Sokak but our pizza only comes if we say #30 Blahblah sokak. When I first told the pizza man #61, I saw him driving his bike in circles around the neighbourhood looking for it, going past the flat at least 4 times before I was able to get his attention through the window. I still don't know what my official address is.

ha ha ha that's funny...do they make the neighborhood lovlier?

the "new" street signs in GOP are lovely too. Black spray paint on the sides of the corner buildings.....!! Not that I live there. Or would live there. God no. I worked there for a minute and then left.
