Ok, I know I've been posting a lot, but I have a lot of questions Very Happy I will graduate in December, and I want to come in Feb, but my diploma takes 3-4 months to process. Will schools take an official letter from the school that states that I have completed all of the degree requirements? or do I have to wait until I have the diploma in my hand before I come?

Rather wait until you've got the actual diploma - A friend of mine tried the offical letter route and ended up doing two visa runs as his ARC could not be processed until the actual diploma arrived.

Unfortinately, you need the diploma to get actual legal working papers. I would talk to the local TECO office without giving them your name to get better answers. They'll still probably give you 4 answers after you talk to 3 people there.

You have two options:

1. Wait till you have your actual diploma and come.

2. Have another reason for staying in Taiwan, such as "studying" till your diploma comes and then you just head over to Hong Kong with a letter from your employer and get a new visa.

I'm doing #2 under different circumstances.

It would be best for you to wait until you actually had your diploma in hand. This will save you from countless headaches...excuses.. and trips. Oh, and TECO gave 2 answers after speaking to 3 people. Wait for the diploma.

Study Chinese!
Take some classes and do the tourist visa for study purposes thing (student visa). It will not only give you the time you need to find a good job, you will have much more control over your right to reside in Taiwan.
You may actually learn some Chinese too.
Good Luck
