I have a 4 year degree, California teaching credential, and a Masters in Education. Do I also have to have TEFL to teach in Thailand over the summer?

I'd hope not....if so any tips...

According to WorldTEFL that I've been emailing on Ko Samui I need a TEFl to teach inspite of the fact I'm a teacher with all my qualifications. She mentioned not many employers will even look at my CV without this certificate. What is your take on this. Honestly!!!!

Also, is it better to job hunt over email or waiting till I'm in person? I'm torn because I can only be there for June, July, and August.

And...in your opinion do you think I'll have success in job hunting the southwestern coast for part time paid teacher work...

Hello Erin

She's trying to sell you a TEFL certificate course. Ignore her.

Ditto Kent

You are far better qualified than most here.

And - ditto on the short-term jobs. People here are quite used to literally thousands of people wandering through who want to "Teach English" for a week or two or a month or two. They pretty much get tuned out.

Can't blame them can you?
