This may seem like an idiotic question, but I think it has to do with social norms. What is the average workweek? I keep reading all different numbers of hours on these boards. Can anyone give me an idea of what I can expect to be working down in BA to estimate my pay when people say $15-20/hr? Is there something that is acceptable or something that you really can't go over because of unacceptable norms? Thank you. |

I think I should clarify my question. When I say acceptable or unacceptable I am really referring to what may be acceptable in various contracts? What does an average contract expect down there? Also, I have a bit of confusion about what I should expect in this career for a work week. I am leaving a career in which I currently work about 80 hours a week. |

I don't think it's humanly possible to work 80 hours a week, but I guess you are a living proof...No, here you can do 30-40 hours easily, like I said earlier, there is plenty of work. DO NOT WORK for 15 pesos/hour, nobody should! There are plenty of institutions that offer at least 18 and quite a few 20-25. There are no contracts, they just ask you for how long you are planning on staying, because usually you take several groups and you continue with them for the whole school year. |
