Finding schools that well set a visa just for summer? or stay home? I cannot go for the year because I am doing my MA and have year 2 to go still |

My God! I haven't seen English this badly written since I was three. So you're an American and working on an M.A? I seriously doubt you got through Grade VI.
You're functionally illiterate. How the hell can you pretend to teach English?

Bear Canada, you should of been in my 200 level college short story writing class. I got in trouble for giving a student a terrible review because she was unable to even form sentances correctly, let alone having her paragraphs stay on topic or even making a story that was concise. She was a twenty year old education major who grew up in Cali, made me question how good my college was if she got in.
The best part of that class was the football player we had in it who constantly missed the class due to "practice" when we knew all the footballers were jokes in academics. His stories were always god awful unintelligable pieces of trash that would by the second draft be shining marks of human achievement, course that probably had to do with them hiring him some english major to re-write it for him.
And we bitch about the Chinese education system...pot calling the kettle black perhaps? |

Sorry Jack, but there is a certain ethic among English teachers that requires one to try to use the language properly.
Suggest that you get your mind around that ethic before coming to
China to teach. |

As you are going for an M.A, one must assume that you have already obtained your bachelors, in linguistics or English. Many educational institutes list this as a requirement, so you will definitely be short-listed on the educationl level and fast-tracked towards your work visa on the official side of things. Seeing as how you have met the requirements set therein, this school should be willing to sponsor your visa. Do not let them make you pay for this visa yourself-YOU are the commodity here. Welcome to China.... |

Have you ever heard of multiple Englishes? Not everything is written as though it is a formal paper. In message boards, certain emails, and so on it is actually quite common just to type to get your point across without worrying about grammatical details. |

Jack, you may do well in China. It is quite common here to talk loudly into your cell phone while standing next to someone or sitting in a restaurant.
People commonly blow bodily fluid out of their nose onto the street and urinate in public. People can often be seen vomiting along the roadside or on the sidewalk. Children comonly, with their parents approval, relieve themselves on sidewalks, in the street, near dorways, and so forth.
Ever heard of cultural differences? |

Assuming that wasn't a rhetorical question, no. |

Dude get yourself an F visa in the States before you come to the Giant Cesspool and you will be ok.
Try to get a 12 month multiple entry visa - cost $150 usd.
Don't take any advice from the Canadians who post... they are all angry because they can't live in the USA... |
