If you don't pass Nova's background check do they tell you or do they just not contact you again? |

How long has it been since you faxed the form to them? |

days, including a weekend. Actually, I purchased the order on Sunday the 11th, to I guess that's one and a half weekends. Either way, they've had at a good 7 business days to process it. It's occured to me that they may have some difficulty verifying my addresses from when I was in the military; particularly to one from when I was in Korea. |

You can call the background check company and request a free copy of your report. Just check the consent form that you faxed to them and to NOVA for the phone number to call.
At least that way you'll know what they're looking at. |

I'd have more patience if I knew they would contact me either way. |

Background checks take awhile to process. I've seen them take up to two weeks. |

Seriously? That's a relief. Thank you. One concern I have, though, is that I wrote to the company conducting the background check AND the woman who interviewed me and told me they want to hire me; I asked if everything was in order since she said at the interview that the check should only take a few days and it's been more than a week. I haven't heard from either of them. THAT concerns me. |

Nevermind. They just left me a message on my phone; they're sending me a job offer. Crisis averted. WHEW! ` |

Omeo...this is Japan, and there is a ton of red tape with anything you do.
I found that especially while I was searching for jobs, the wait was especially unnerving because I never would hear anything either way until the very last second. And this has happened many times. From my experience, I would say it`s the norm.
Get used to it. There is nothing you can do to speed up the process generally. And it happens with pretty much everything. Waiting and not knowing. And more waiting.
You haven`t seen anything yet.
Good Luck & Have Fun! I`m glad you found a position.
