|
|
Since I am going to Japan, and I am far from being anything close to fluent in the language, I want to purchase a good language learning software. Can anyone recommend one to me that works on macs? Has anyone had any experience with a software that I should steer clear of? |

It isn't worth the $200+.

Look in the itunes store. There are podcasts for learning Japanese. |

How old is your MAC? I think all the new ones are able to run all windows programs. |

I recommend Rosetta Stone and Pimsleurs. I haven't used either but many of my friends like them.
Actually, what I do is study with the free resources I find on the internet.
For listening practice - www.japanesepod101.com
For kanji and vocabulary drills - kanji.renshuu.org
There are dozens of excellent sites for Japanese study but it takes some time to search them out. You can find a list of links on http://www.manythings.org/japanese/links/ . |

it's about 5 years old, which might be too old. i hear you get get a program that lets you use pc software, but it's glitchy and slow. might as well just stick to mac specific software. |
