|
|
Have been looking into various jobs, and came up with these employers that I couldn't find much information on here for:
Fifth Wings (there's threads, but no real factual information - hoping someone in those threads might have some feedback?)
Griff Eagle
Wishborn Global Communications (forced to own a car? Maybe problematic?)
J & A (apparently a very small organization, as they're proposing living in their house - is on esfcafe listings)
Any info would be nice. |

Wishborn has gotten some bad press online here (I think) and/or on gaijinpot.com. One ad is here. Note the (cheapo) Yahoo email address for contact.

Extensive ad for Griff Eagle here.

Extensive ad for Fifth Wings here.

The last 2 seem like your run of the mill eikaiwa. Griff lays it out pretty clearly that living there won't necessarily be easy being so isolated.
J & A is looking for a female teacher. Never did like places that specify gender, and it's illegal now anyway. Never did like places that say you could live with the boss' family (although in this case you don't have to, but the other accommodation is an admittedly OLD Japanese style house). |

Thanks. I get the feeling I should steer clear of Wishborn. I saw another ad for J&A that didn't have a gender preference, but it's going to be at the bottom of my list.
I researched where the various positions were for the other two (Fifth had quite a few on different sites), and they all were in cities of more than 50,000 people. I suppose that's small by Japanese standards, but it's fairly large by Iowa standards... Not sure what that means, though. How isolated can you get in Japan anyway?
Hopefully I can talk with some of the Japanese students here for more info. |
