Im looking to move and teach in Puerta Vallarta, Mexico and was hoping someone might have information about international or private highschools in the area. I would like to take my son with me but need to ensure he gets a good education. |

Define "good education" as far as your expectations go, since you will find it is rather different here on many levels, especially when compared to what you are used to up north. If you mean that he should learn Spanish while studying in a completely different culture then this will be really good for him. The elite private school I taught in here in Mazatlan had teachers with very little or no English in the highschool. English is covered in Primary.
Does your son have any Spanish skills thus far? It is quite important for him to learn some prior to being transplanted in Mexico or he will feel very much on the "outside".

Hello from Huatulco, 'sidaway'.
If you're looking for something as specific as the area around PV, you might want to try this search engine: http://www.computrabajo.com.mx/
It's a job posting site for Mexico, but if you don't know much Spanish it might be a bit difficult to use. |

I was actually thinking of a school I found on the internet called
the American School of Puerta Vallarta. It's a private international
school. The curriculum is English and students also learn Spanish.
Does anyone have information on this school? |

Here is a website. http://aspv.edu.mx/index.htm The tuition rates are posted for 2006/2007 to give you an idea of what you would be facing. I would suggest visiting first and also talking to teachers who taught in the High school, as I suspect there will be classes conducted in Spanish at that level to support "bilingual-bicultural education" and the "dual curriculum" noted. There are teachers names and credentials noted in the website link so it should be easy to check.
Here is a blurb from the ASOMEX listings:
