Hi
I am posting here because I have heard that people working in the Gulf States have a lot of knowledge of CALL and Language Lab usage (for EFL).
I wonder if anyone could recommend a good program or software specifically for teaching reading skills? We are looking for something that would be good for false beginners to advanced.
Much appreciated, any recs you may have.
Best

Pearson Longman has a very good interactive software series called Side by Side that gives listening and grammar practice.
Ellis has a more robust network application that seems to be best for beginners to more academic levels.
Both have some reading practice...but mostly listening and reading comprehension, and grammar.
as far as Reading...as in Literature study groups...I am not aware of any SW out there......this is still pretty much low-tech (paperback books). |

Thanks for the information. It really is hard to find something that focuses on reading skills. Maybe the way to go is toward test taking skills, like the reading section of the TOEFL test.
