I just joined the forum and have one post, but when I go to 'profile' to put in an avatar pic there is not box for it.

Maybe posters have to post so many times before than can have an avatar?

Yep, the same here. I can't find the avatar control panel on my profile page and no one seems to know how many posts you have to do before it appears. That's if it has anything to do with posts at all!

I would like to post my Avatar but I see the Galilean moons have not come into mystical alignment, yet! Anyone know when this will happen?

Yep, not avatar section yet. I think you may have to have 100 posts I think. I saw someone who had fewer then I did then one day they had over 100 and got an avatar.

100 posts really is the benchmark.

I just made my 100th post today. And voila! The avatar box suddenly appears at the bottom of my profile page.

I may not have yet completed my CELTA certification.

I have yet to land my first ESL teaching job.

But I am soooo happy!

I finally have an avatar!!!

Very Happy

Patience, my dear.

Just keep posting and you will eventually reach 100. As of now, you're half-way there.

Remember that your avatar must be 80 by 80 pixels. And must also be no more than 6 KB.

I found an Avatar and successfully linked it. How do we know if it is less than 6KB and under 80x80 pixels?
I just deleted it because it seemed a little bit large compared to others'.
It would be great to keep it.

We could alter a jpeg in photoshop to fit the requirements. This website
links your avatar from other websites, so it is not possible to change the specs.

It's very easy to find out if an image can be used as an avatar. Here's what you have to do:

1. Put your cursor over the image.

2. Right click your mouse. A box or menu will suddenly appear.

3. Click on Properties. (It may be slightly different on other browsers. It may be termed as Image Information or something like that.)

4. A box or window will appear. All the information - size, pixels, etc. - will be right there for you.

Go for it!

Please do not, however, use the html in the properties to link to the image for your avatar here. Use photobucket or another free image hosting site. Very Happy

It's the Flash. A superhero from the DC Universe.

What's yours, spiral78? Benji? Toto?
