Hi All - Just got a teaching position in Puebla, after teaching in NYC for five years. Would love to hear from those of you who are already there. I have tons of questions about housing, cost-of-living, etc. Thanks!

I have a good friend who's already teaching there and I'm planning to go there this fall when I finish my masters. Where did you get your job?

There is a poster named sickbag who lives(or lived?) in Puebla. If you do a search you should find some information. I live 4 hours from Puebla City and people from my town consider Puebla expensive. But it is a large city, I believe it's Mexico's 5th largest City, but that could be outdated information. You can find just about anything on earth there, there is probably a large range of price ranges in terms of living arrangments, depending on how far away you want to live from where you will be working. Public transport is on buses and minibuses, and some students I know who live there have to make 4 transfers to get from their apartment to school, but living nearer their school was too expensive.
The Center of Puebla is very beautiful, I'm sure you will have a great time there.

Take a jacket. I always freeze my bottom off when I'm there. Wink

Definitely bring a jacket. Seems like the freezing nights are finally over for a few months, thankfully.
