Has anyone that is American arrived in Peru after January 7? I want to know if you did, did you have to get a tourist visa to enter Peru? I got my tickets from travelocity.com and there is a page on there that has information about countries which you need a tourist or buisness visa. For Peru it said that there is a new rule that was put into effect January 7, 2007 and that if you stay longer than 30 days in Peru, you need to apply for a tourist visa. However, when I checked the Peruvian Consulate's website, it says that we don't need a tourist visa, so I'm confused. Do I need one or not? Any help would be appreciated as I'm leaving in 2 weeks. Thanks. |

Usually you get 30 to 90 days upon entry. Simply say that you want 90 days. If they give you less then you can go to Immigrations here in Lima and get extensions or border hop. |
