hi everyone.....i'm planning on going to tokyo in june to look for work. i am aware that this is not the best time to come, but.......i'm coming!
i will probably book a room at a gajin house in advance and would like some opinions from people living in tokyo, or who know the city, what the best location would be for job searching.
any info is appreciated.....thanks! |

Hi Anne,
Congratulations on taking the plunge to come to Tokyo and look for work. As you said yourself, be aware that June is not a good time to look for work and July and August will only get worse.
Jobs in Tokyo are spread out all over the place, so the best place to stay in terms of convenience in getting to all the various places would be one of the major transportation hubs. My first choice would be Shinjuku, second would be Shibuya and third would be Ikebukuro. Failing that, anywhere along the Yamanote line would be convenient.
Tokyo's train network is great so wherever you end up, it won't be a problem to get around. |
