|
|
Hi. I've decided to return to British Columbia at the end of the semester in July. If anyone has a car and is interested in doing a "ride share", please let me know. One big caveat... I'm taking a cat back up north with me. Yeah, I know...
I've thought of renting a car: the daily rates aren't bad - but the drop-off fees are beyond belief.
Check this quote out, from HUX to Tijuana in a compact car....
Quote: |
3 Review car rental cost
Daily rate $22.00
One-way drop-off fee $1,790.50
Total car rental estimate $2,224.16 USD
Amount due now
$0.00 USD
Amount due at pick-up
Car rental estimate including taxes and fees plus $1,790.50 drop-off fee . $2,224.16 USD
Daily rate does not include taxes and fees or $1,790.50 one-way drop-off fee. Rental fees are due when you pick-up your vehicle. |

Hey Ls,
You're leaving the wilds of Huatulco to go back to sunny BC? What brought that on? I *was* planning to stay on in Boggy for another year, but now there's a job going at UMAR, maybe I should change my mind...
Just a thought I had... Have you heard of a company in the US that arranges for rich people's cars to be driven across country by sweaty backpackers while the rich folks are flying in their private jets? I'm sorry, I don't know the name of the outfit, but its a way for the rich folks to have their car waiting for them at their destination without having to do the driving. I'm just wondering if the service extends into Mexico. Basically it means you get to drive and only have to pay for the petrol and insurance. Might be something worth looking into. Once I travelled from Oregon to Northern California in a gold Mercedes - luxury and tons of room for luggage!
Cheers,
Lozwich. |

Different reasons, none of them negative or to do with the school itself.
When you can go to a nice beach every day it's great. When you go to a nice beach every day for almost three years, it wears thin. It's time for me to move on. |
