I know about guys get togethers, but anyone out there living in DF know where some of the expats hangout? Is there a coffee shop that is popular with gringoes where one could expect a good likelihood of meeting extranajeros? And the same for serious Bohemian artists of all stripes? Where do the artists hangout, other than at each othersopenings?

I`ve lived in Savannah and Boston and in both places, Bohemian artists are frequent attendees to openings in alternative galleries as well as well established galleries. In Atlanta, that is not so much the case as the Bohemians only visit the startup, cooperative galleries.
Yes, Bohemian artists do attend openings, although not the formal affairs that you usually associate openings with. In fact, as the price of the art work plummets the proportion of Bohemian artists rises. Take it from me. I have been going to art openings for more than 30 years and have attended hundreds of openings from the finest most expensive galleries, to the hole in the walls, serving coffee, not liquor for refreshments.

That still begs the question to the answer I am seeking. Is there Anyone out there that can answer?

Cangringo:

Now that the heat is on, the smart ones have left for the summer.

Those of us left behind may as well get together for another round of beers!
