My preferrence for teaching English is private tutoring. Is this a realistic option for Greece and how hard is it to get established? Also, what would be a median hourly rate?
I am also particularily interested in teaching adults - is this different from teaching in schools?

Hi, this would depend on your experience and qualifications but most importantly on WHO you know as Greeks work on going to people they know or who has been reccomended by another person.
Its a good idea to find one or two to begin with and then ask them about their friends and say you can offer them a better rate IF they recommend another student to you.
Greek English teachers charge anything from 10 to 30 euros an hour and Brit teachers charge from around 25 to 40euros.
Teaching adults is no different unless you like kids. Also you could try Ingingua school in the centre of Athens who are currently looking for teachers (but with experience) |
