Hello,

I will be needing to do a medical exam for a z-visa while living in South Korea.

Does anyone have any experience with this?

Also, can anyone point me in the direction of the medical exam form itself, as well as the specific visa application form that would be used in Korea?

Thanks

I got mine done at a hospital near my work in Busan. It wasn't too much effort and it got the job done. You're going to have to get another one done when you arrive in China.

Um, most big cities in South Korea have a Catholic Hospital where usually someone speaks English or is on call to speak english. They also quite offen have a foreign doctor or two.

In Seoul there is a clinic for foreigners that is very good also.

If you're in Seoul you can take the subway to Seoul National University Hospital - they have an International Clinic with American doctors. They'll do it for you.

However, as the other poster stated, you'll most likely need to have it done again when you arrive in China.

Moronic, isn't it?

When I first came over from Korea, I had my medical done at Yonsei university hospital in Seoul. They have all the forms there and have lots of experience with the requirements for China (they are recommended by the consulate there). The medical is done by a foreign doctor (american when I was there). Make sure you take a couple of passport size photos with you. Because they know what they are doing and dot all the i's on the forms it is usually accepted here and you do not need to get another one done on arrival - depending on which province you go to. Beijing, Zhejiang prov. will accept it, but Hubei will not - other places I am not positive.

You can get a medical exam in Itaewon at the Itaewon clinic. The doctor lived in Australia and speaks perfect English. Head east out of the Itaewon station, line 6. It is across a pub called Rocky Mountain Tavern on the 5th floor in a green building.

Last time I did this I was told to go to one particular place in central Seoul, I forget where, but they didn't speak much English. However, I'm now based in Jeolla-do and I really don't want to do that! Anyone had the medical down here? Also, I now have a wife and baby. Will they need the same thing? Does my poor little son need a needle stuck in him in two countries, like I probably will?
