Dandelion School? Are they related to the Crabgrass School outfit? |
Its possible, but i'm not sure.
The way this organization does its scam is they keep total control over the school and the teachers and both are powerless to do much.
The organization first goes to the schools who desperately want foreign teachers. These schools are mostly decent and I had no beef against the school that I worked with (except the total lack of a spine and to fight for their rights). ACCIF/ Dandelion signs a contract with the schools saying they will provide foreign teachers to them. The school signs contract, gives the money to ACCIF for the wages of the teachers for the entire year, up front, before any teacher arrives. My school paid around 150,000 RMB up front.
So then ACCIF posts ads on tefl.com/ other websites looking for teachers to recruit. The make it sound pretty nice too, now they are including some "free" TESOL course.
ACCIF brings teachers to schools. YOu sign a contract with ACCIF, NOT with the school that you are working with. (Word of advice, if you ever go through an organization, always sign a contract WITH the school, and not with the organization that recruited you.
So ACCIF has the money of the school. ACCIF has the money of the teacher's salary. They can do whatever they want to screw both of them, and they do.
My situation was that ACCIF did not pay for 2 months of work. I went to the school, school can't do anything. They already gave their money to ACCIF. I made a lot of noise and compained. They fired me. School was angry because they just lost a good teacher. They had already spent their budget on foreign teachers all to ACCIF, they can't hire me directly.
The school was too scared to challenge ACCIF, that this organization would just take their money and not replace me with other new teachers. They had to wait until their contract was up. They asked me numerous times, if I would come back and teach AFTER they were done with their contract with ACCIF. But that would be one year!
Also, teachers can be pulled from one school and ordered to work in another school anytime, anywhere. It says so in the contract they you are soley working for ACCIF, not for the school. This is so ACCIF can get more money from more schools, using the least amount of teachers. |
