Does anyone out there have experience bringing cats into the country through Seeb Airport? The customs regulations seem to be a lot more stringent then for the UAE. I have never traveled with pets before, and its stressing me out!

So here's what I found out, since I'm also thinking of working in Oman:
You have to get an import permit from the Ministry of Agriculture and fisheries, Department of Animal health for Oman, which your sponsor should request, before shipping your dog or cat over. You also have to have a copy of their rabies vaccination and a vet health certificate that is no older than 1-6months before departure. You then have to have a second vet health certificate that is no more than one week old prior to arrival. These have to be manifested on the waybill attached to the pets carrier and the pet has to go as cargo if you're flying.
For more info, and contact info you could contact the Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman in Washington, D.C. (phone numbers and address is on their web site) |
