Hi!
-I just finished a job in Korea.
-I am interested in teaching in Beijing and have a few questions.
-What is the best way of going about getting a job in Beijing?
-What should I look for/look out for with perspective employers?
-What kind of salary can I expect with a BA in English, a TESOL certificate and one year teaching experience in Korea?
-Has anyone taught in both China and Korea? Which is a better experience?
-How long does it take to get through the job process?
-Do you like living in Beijing?
-Are the students well-behaved?
-Is Beijing a good place to work with the Olympics coming?
Thank you in advance for any information/advice.

I've got about 200 postings related to your questions. I've been trying to leave Beijing for 3 years, but commitments have kept me here...Will you like it ? Not if you're a serious and dedicated teacher. B.A.? that the minimum. Now a B.Ed, or M.Ed...you could throw your hat into the ring with the many many many other same degree holders for an international school. Everyone is coming to China(per ELT's population), and if you're going to come to China, will ya pick Chengde, Zibo, or Beijing ? Beijing?...And so does everyone else.Coming from a nice salary in Korea....hmm? |
