Just wanted to know if anyone has any idea on price of property, land or flats in the city center, I have taught in Poland and due to the increasing rates of property was wondering what costs are in Latvia or other areas. My wife is from Poland and we may be interested in teaching in Latvia in the near future. Wife has a French education , any demand?

Single-room flat in central Riga 40,000 - 70,000. Two-room flat 70,000 - 140,000. Significantly cheaper outside of Central Riga, and much cheaper outside Riga.

See http://dzivoklis.lv/en/ for more.

There's plenty of demand for English teaching, although the city is dominated by a big IH school. Much less for French but she might be able to get something part time and do private coaching.

Hm, that's comparable to Toronto, Canada. How much bigger is Toronto? What are salaries in Toronto compared to Riga? And Canadians think Toronto is overpriced.

There are indications that the Euro property bubble is on its last legs. Look out.
