Hey everybody,
I am heading down to Ensenada at the end of May with no job in hand(I am hoping by applying at schools in person, I will find something). I am Canadian, I've lived in Mexico before and I have my TEFL certification along with some teaching experience. I am wondering about what I may need to bring with me(documents and such)? This is the first time I will be trying to find work as a teacher in Mexico, so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks! |

You will want to take notarized copies of your university degree and TEFL Certificate to the local Mexican Consulate for 'legalization'.
Take a search through the forum for 'legalization'; you'll find lots and lots of previous posts with more info. |

I'm not a Canadian, so the others can tell you better as for the documents.
But seeing as you seem to be female, if you have ever changed your name, you should get the documents that prove the names on your birth cert, passports, degrees, whatever all correspond to the same person. Marriage certificates, divorce certificates or any legal notification of name change. |

You need to get your diploma and TEFL certificate notarized (you can do it anywhere) and then legalized through the Consular General de Mexico. They have offices in most of the major Canadian cities, and I think it's somewhere between $30-50 for each document. I had to mail mine and it took so long, but I think you can do it in person too. |

Just wanted to say I agree with doublek, we read that you had to send it off to Ottawa and then take it to the Mexican Consulate but we didn't have to do that. |
