I have a B.S. in Business Admin 4 year degree and 5 years as an ESL teacher(2 in Thailand and 3 in Korea) and a 120 hour TEFL Cert(from Phuket,Thailand). Cool
I wish to get a job at an International school in Thailand ,making around 100,000 baht a month.
Question, since I don't have a degree in education, nor a real teaching license, should I get a PGDE to qualify for an international job?
Where in Asia can you get a PGDE that would be accepted in Thailand? Wink
If not a PGDE what kind of teaching license and how do you get one to qualify for an international job. Rolling Eyes
Any info about International schools in Thailand would also be appreciated Very Happy

A PGCE is a one year full time course, with at least one term spent in a school doing supervised teaching practice. To get QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) you then need to teach in a State School in the UK and pass the one year probationary period.

In America you would need to get State teacher certification, and that normally takes around five months, and your Thai employer would probably expect you to work a year or two as well.

Few International schools teach Business Studies so you would also have to decide on your specialization.

In no case that I know of can you do the required without returning to your home country for a couple of years at least.

You can get a PGDE from Hong Kong University. Is it accepted in Thailand I wonder? You can also get one from an Australian Uni but again being American is Thailand going to accept either of those Uni's PGDE's???
