Hello!
I've been in Osaka for just over 2wks now and loving every minute of it!
However, i've been wearing contacts for the last few months now. I alternate between the specs and the contacts.. but at home it was usally the contacts for the majority of the time.
However, since being here.. i'm having problems wearing them. I'm not sure if it's just the change in environment..hotter weather, air con' etc. I've brought my own solutions so thats not changed. I've bought some eye drops and eye drops to use when applying your contacts but they're not helping much. Personally, my eye's don't feel any drier to me.. but one in particular is just irritating and sore all the time that i wear it. I've already thrown one away to open a new pack but that hasn't helped!
Has anyone else experienced any such problems? It's really annoying me! My friend is coming to visit in a few weeks and i've asked her to bring me some eye drops etc from back home.. but can anyone recommend anything in the meantime? (apart from not wearing them in the being the obvious solution but that's not the answer i'm looking for)
Any ideas, much appreciated!
Thank you,
Claire |

I don't use contacts or glasses myself, but friends that do often make a trip to Costco. If you're in Osaka, it's not that far from Umeda. They have a big selection of eye care products that you will be familiar with from back home. |

Had this problem mutiple times.
As a long time contact lens wearer I can only give you the advise you don't want to hear: Go to a specialist and get your eyes checked or give your eyes a contact lens break. The problem might dissapear by itself but DO NOT continue wearing contacts- the irritation can get worse and you could seriously damage your eye. Whatever the reasons (allergy, dust, wearing them for too long, etc.), I would not continue wearing them until they are comfortable again. Had to give my eyes three times a long break (at least 8 month- specialist's advice). Now I'm on specs again...
Get yourself a pretty new pair of specs and take care of your eyes! |
