The 300 club
The 500 club
The 1000 club
The 10,000 club
Lets consider somebody that has meals, accommodation and transport to/from work paid by the company.
What extra fun could you have by spending the 200 difference between the 3 and 5 hundred club? Or by going wild and spending 1000 a month?
1000 R is about 270 US$. Lets call it 300US$ for simplicity.
300 club = 90$/M 1080$/annum
500 club = 150$/M 1800$/annum (about 700$ a year more than the 300)
1000 club = 270$/M 3240$/annum (1240$ a year more than 500, 2000$ a year more than the 300.
So, lets make some quality of life comparisons:
you can have 2000$ a year or ... what (that the 300 don't get)? |

I believe satisfaction and boasting rights.
I have mentioned before on this board that I knew a guy who was proud he spent only 1 QR a day. |

He must be a Scot or a Sadik?
Which one, dmb?

dmb,
I believe he spent UP TO 1 Riyal a day. I don't remember any evidence that he used this entire allowance.
I do remember that, after I was in shock still after a car crash and he happened to walk by I asked him to call the police from the nearby hotel. He said he would 'if it is a free call'.
I also remember on his holiday he took a trip on the TWN worker bus to a refinery for the day. I believe that was 2 Riyals!
I can't imagine he spent a whole 30 Riyals a month, aeven that month. Any evidence to the contrary? |

| I believe you are correct. I still tell people about your crash. They find it hard to believe. |

So I assume that food was paid for, or provided by the job? Because it is impossible to eat on 1 Riyal a day.
And where was this dude from?
And YOU were in the crash? Hope you didn't have any major injuries. I hope you kicked his ass when you were well...?
That's just sick (about the crash)
(We need a  smiley, to show disgust) |

What about my colleague who is a great newspaper reader. Of course as a 300-er he cannot bring himself to part with the 2 riyals that these cost. So he does VERY undignified things to satisfy his craving for newsprint.
I will leave these to your imagination. |

You mean he sits next to the boss to read the ones in the staffroom for free?
He could save SR3 if he went to the place I have lunch and bought a coke. I always leave my copies of the 'Arab News' and 'The Saudi Gazette' on the table for others to read after I have read them over lunch. |

Yes trapezius, I was in a crash, but not hurt at all.
Food was provided, but not of the highest quality.

You must be working with the guy who buys the Arab News, reads it and then asks his colleagues to bid for it. He only lets it go if the bidding reaches one riyal. |
