Anyone know if this is going to be on standard Japanese television or whether it is Sky only?

I am clinging to a thin ray of optimism it might be on the normal channels, based on the fact that in the UK it is on the BBC, rather than just Sky?

That ball crossed the line.

If it's good enough for Hurst it's good enough for Giggs.

Boring doesn't describe it. I was pulling my own teeth out for light entertainment!

Yes, the ball did cross the line. Giggs had a face like thunder when he went up for his runner's up medal. Not surprising really.
Oh well.

but unfortunately it did so only after Giggsy had clattered into the goalkeeper forcing both of them (man and ball) over the goal-line.

If the 'goal' had been disallowed for a foul on the goalkeeper then a free kick would have been awarded, which it wasn't. The ref waved play on.

It was still a foul though, whether or not it was acknowledged by the ref. Technically you are right: While it was to Chelsea's advantage to play on ignoring the fact that the ball had crossed the line after the foul in fact the referee cannot ignore that fact. But who wants a ref that blows his whistle at every opportunity when a simply play on serves natural justice better?

Nicely put, I like that!
Anyway, the match was so dull it was better to get a result as soon as poss. so that we, in Japan, could get to bed!

And to think, when I was a lad playing football at school in the 60's we played with a soggy old leather casey that was like heading a cannon ball when it was wet. In those days it was acceptable to shoulder barge the keeper over the line if he was holding the ball. How things have changed!

So, who do you fancy for the Champions League Final?
