hello everyone,
been reading the posts and it appears that universities pay very poorly in buenos aires. ive been spoiled with great university jobs teaching english in south korea and china, and wasnt expecting nearly the same amount of pay, but was hoping for a year contracted job with good students and enough pay to break even. problem is id be looking for work for the 2nd semster in buenos aires which i assume starts around august or september and realize this might not be the best time to get hired. so wondering if my only options for finding work at this time is to show up and look through the yellow pages and find institutes or if it is possible to find a university teaching gig. heard private universities pay better.
i have 5 years efl university experience and a degree in english. is it enough? im serious about teaching, its my career, and have enough backup cash to put in a year or two teaching in BA, but only would work in the city if i found a rewarding job with good students and enough pay on 20hrs a week not to have to dig into my savings too much.
and if the universities hired for the 2nd semester, when would be a good time to be in BA looking for jobs. thanks alot.
