| can anyone tell me where the toefl testing center is in istanbul? some of my students are asking, but i have no idea. even on the ets.org webpage it doesnt give an address. |

| no there's not. there's plenty of places to take the course. but not to take the test. there is only one official toefl testing centre in istanbul. |

| There is also a Tofel test centre in Kadikoy not sure of the address, but the school is called Just English and their number is 0554 402 0596. |

it's been a while since I taught TOEFL. However, at least with the CBT I knew where to go. Has anyone done the IBT thingy. According to their website Turkey only does IBT. But I know this is rubbish as I recently did a level test with prep student from Koc and she said they were still using the paper version. Anyone any experience with IBT? |

| A student of mine is doing the paper version in Ankara on the 12th. He said that there is some sort of organization trying to keep the paper version alive until 2008. Lots of students want it as there is no speaking component. My concern would be in its acceptance by the uni's the students want to attend. To paraphrase the old carpenter's adage: Research twice, spend time and money once. |
