Forgive me if I'm a bit stupid but what happened to the PRC off-topic forum?

Many of the new spyware programs, which kick in on start-up, clean out all your caches, including your passwords. So you have to "rejoin" sites like Dave's.
Have you just installed one of these newbies, and are running IE?

It was all bit weird. Usually I am logged in automatically but yesterday I had to log in again (spyware as you mention?) but did so anyway. On the Job Discussion Forums Forum Index all the usual forums were there to browse/post/reply etc but the China (off-topic) forum had 'disappeared'. Strange indeed. Anyway, all back to normal it seems. Thanks for your input mondrian and tw......I'm not that thick Sad

Now you know how it happened.

Why it happened is because, unlike every other forum on the international board, access to the China Off-topic forum is restricted to logged-in members only. If you are not a member, or not logged-in, the forum appears not to exist. That way Dave feels less paranoid about the prospect of the Chinese govt shutting down access to the site from within the PRC.
