Ha! It's like the war on drugs. Total double speak, Orwell was right in many of his predictions/warnings. Governments have fabricated this imaginary "war" so they can have greater control over people's freedom. They used the idea of a "war on drugs" so that they can do random stop and searches. I'm not suggesting some great conspiracy here by the way, it happens naturally in society. There isn't one person thinking, "I want to restrict freedoms", middle society does it itself. Drugs became direct threat to the standard middle class way of life, so they naturally had to do something. SO too with terrorism. The best way to stop terrorism would be to redress the economic balance between the "haves" and the "have nots" that years of imperialism and pillaging of natural resources by the larger powers (The Turks are as guilty as anyone) has caused. But are you prepared to give up half of your belonging/savings? I think not. So there's your war. |

And it's Bilderburg in Istanbul today. Anybody know where they are meeting? I assume nobody got an invite. |

I was pondering this the other day. Conservatism ,for the want of a better word, seems to come in phases of a couple of decades. I think that we are entering/have entered a conservative phase. |

Bilderberg meeting is in Silviri.
war on terror - Bush slogan, was his slogan for his war against the middle east i.e. muslims, which was given massive support after september 11...
also cheney his pal wanted to make more money and in turn try to control all the oil in the mid east. Because the oil in the states is vanishing rapidly.
so they and their group of pals figured the war on terror was a great way for them to dismantle the middle east as it is and create a new democratic middle east which supports their businesses ideals.
also since the war in iraq has become a quagmire of crap its now become his big crusade against islam and the war on terror.
its his way of brainwashing the american public to keep up the support for his war on terror and the war and also to make congress keep funneling money to his damned war.
I am a bit angry today so not writing clearly. |

Nah. Bush doesn't hate Muslims, he's into the mind control of dogmatic religions, he just wants the oil and power. |

in canada there are posters of "bushisms" i think most people have seen some of the better one liners, like: "I'm honored to shake the hand of a brave Iraqi citizen who had his hand cut off by Saddam Hussein" or "i believe the human and the fish can coexist peacefully"
it has been postulated that bush might be dislexic but another idea occured to me. he probably just hung-over every day and has a hard time getting the brain to work. it's common knowledge that he was a drunk before. a friend of mine worked in a restaurant that he went to a year before he became president but many years after he said he quit drinking. apparently he ordered 2 grey goose martinis before dinner and then moved on to wine.
the other thing about bush is that he was just a figure-head. dick cheney and rumsfeld and other noe-cons were pulling all the strings. nowdays the strings are all in a knot and the neo-cons have bailed out and left a hung-over moron with total mess |

The Bushisms are good. Makes one wonder how he ever graduated from the college he went to.
Im from America {not something I admit to often these days} and I dont know anyone that likes the President or thinks he is doing a so-so, let alone a good job. Im counting the days left in his term. |

What makes the first one a "Bushism"? If he had his right hand cut off could he not shake with his left?
What's wrong with the second?
Sorry tvik, but if you are posting these things as if they are groundbreaking epiphanies for you then you must have been living in a cave for five years. |
