Hey everyone!
My name is Mike and I'm leaving for Argentina at the end of November to start teaching English in Buenos Aires. I was curious to see if anyone can help me clarify as to how to do my banking while abroad? I currently bank at Wells Fargo Bank here in the States, but wondering how to pay my bills in the States if my income is going through an Argentinian bank. Any advice is appreciated. Cheers

I live in Argentina, but all my money is in the US. You can use your' ATM card at most ATMs here. I also do all my banking online from here; paying bills (in the states), moving money around, etc.
I have an Argentine bank account (their are a few posts on here about setting up a bank account), but I only keep around 1.500 peos in it. If you want to send money to or from your' US bank account the best way is through a wire transfer. If you want to buy a house or car most likely you would use this method. The fee from the Agentine bank is around 2 % (depends on the bank).
My best advice is to bring a few grand with you. I am not sure how long you plan to stay or how much you will be making here. I live in Rosario and you can live very well here for 800 USD a month. Of course BA is more expensive.
