I am doing a program in Guadalajara in July and am taking my laptop with me. I was wondering if coffeehouses (or anywhere where there is internet access) had wireless connectivity? Is it free or do they charge? If not, is there a way to connect to the internet from a hotel room? Are there any "pay by the month, week, day, etc..." internet providers? I was wondering because if there isn't I don't want to lug my laptop around and would rather just use internet cafes because I know they are cheap.

Thanks,

Derrick

There are plenty of people in Guadalajara who I'm sure will reply about wireless soon.

There is a card called Todito Card that you can buy in pharmacies and other small shops that will give you dial up service. You can activated it in a couple of different ways. Either like per minute usage for the value of the card or unlimited for X amount of time.

Right off the top, here is a list of 58 WIFI locations in Guadalajara. Some are in places you would expect them to be, like McDonalds or the Malls. There is one in the airport and one in a hospital, and many in hotels. You will need a map.
