Alright...
So I've contacted just about every school I can find in Torreon and now I am getting desperate. I'm engaged to a lovely lovely lagunera and want to be there and am having no luck. I've had one in-person interview in Torreon and one over-the-phone.
Now what? I want to be down there, teaching... but it seems that it might not happen... I know, I know... just.... "hit the pavement"... but I do have student loan bills to pay and I can't go and spend three or four months in Torreon tooling around with fingers crossed.
How do I make someone give me a job? |

If you are really serious about this, be proactive and make your own job when you get there. Start a private tutoring business, work on the internet, etc. You will get offers after you are better known but it takes time for the trust factor to kick in. I think this has been covered from time to time here. Any job you are offered long distance and in advance may not necessarily pan out anyway. The one thing to consider though is that it is never adviseable to come to Mexico with outstanding debt. |

IMARC, based in Saltillo, was doing a teacher training program in Torreon last I heard. The pay is low and it's only on Fridays and Saturdays. You should contact. This is a link to a Saltillo IMARC job but the same person does the hiring for the programs in Torreon and other places.
