Is the DELTA looked upon as the same as an MA by employers in the Middle East. This seems to be case in other places...but i'm not sure about the ME? |

Generally speaking, no.
If a place specifies MA, then usually it means MA. This is the case in universities. If they also accept DELTA, they should mention this on their job ads. |

In answer to your question as stated, I would say definitely not. The majority of the high paying jobs require an MA plus experience after the MA. There are a few (like HCT) that will accept the more respected TEFL cert programs as long as you have had a great deal of experience. The tendency in the ME is to put high regard on academic credentials.
Some of the lower pays and many of the places where the conditions and pay are not as acceptable will accept lesser qualifications.

"Academic Inflation" is more prevalent in the ME than anywhere else. Almost invariabl instituions here would prefer someone with a PhD.EVEN IF THEY COULD NOT TEACH THEIR WAY OUT OF A PAPER BAG.
As for DELTA I doubt if many EFL administrators in the ME know what that is ! |
