Hey everyone

I have a 6 year old yellow lab and he is like my son. I am planning to get my CELTA in Costa Rica. I had planned on driving down with my hound. However I am open to other suggestions to getting my dog down there less flying. I don't want to sedate my dog should he not wake up I would never forgive myself. Freighter? Bus? (green turtle)

sail?

It is an extra $6,000 and loads of permits and border crossings. It will be a grand adventure but I am open to suggestions.

Cheers,

Dave & Cody (bear)

I think that flying would be less tramatic because it's less time.

I read so many bad stories of animals not waking up frm sedation. My dog is an adventure dog and likes trips. I don't know maybe i can get him certified as a sevice dog and take him in the cabin.

I don't think that will happen unless you're disabled.

Pets should never be sedated for air travel. Many web sites explain the reasons why sedation is inappropriate for flying pets.
