Is it inconvenient for an employer that advertises that they will sponsor visas to actually get you your visa while still in your home country? I'm asking because I see a lot of job ads that say "immediate position" yet still offer to sponsor visas. What that means to me is, "come now, get visa later". Do a lot of these employers really expect someone to go to Japan as a tourist and then work illegaly until his or her visa is processed? Does this type of thing happen frequently? |

Perhaps they expect somebody who already has a work permit to step forward, either still in Japan or back home with a work permit that was still valid. Perhaps they are just offering to renew the said work permit when the time comes. I suspect that this scenario happens frequently in Japan. |

Your employer can begin the process while you are still in your native country. When you land in Japan (on your tourist visa), your visa can then be readied in a matter of days.
So, no. Your employer will not be expecting you to work illegaly.
It is simply quicker. |

of course they expect you to work illegally....well some do...
but you said the job was in like September, that is plenty of time for them to get your work visa done in your home state, you just have to mail a bunch of junk...if I were you I ask to get it before you come. It is a pain to go to immigration and they sometimes put it off AND you have to lie in the airport....it would have been much nicer to just have a work visa when we got here... |
