Mexico to go this summer.

Would you like to tell me in a reply or pm if you have had any good and or bad experiences in Spanish immersion schools in VERACRUZ? Smile

and for finding possible EFL teaching positions just for a few weeks in the summer, where might one look in VERACRUZ? (sry for the all-caps; i'd just like info on this one place, thanks!)

and thanks in advance for sharing this information with me. I appreciate it! thank you! I'm so happee; I just received my passport! I hear getting a work visa is another animal entirely.

peace out, man! if u can provide name and number of the good schools that would be sooooo helpful.

DOOZDOGGIE,

(live by ALL CAPS, die by ALL CAPS)

I never went to Veracruz, but all the people I met from there were nice. Since the weather's hot and humid and the water's not as clean as the Mexican Pacific or Caribbean, it gets less international tourists than some other coastal towns. But plenty of Mexicans like to visit there...it's a weekend destination for some folks from the DF. It's very lively, I've heard.

They have a perpetually crappy soccer team with a cool nickname and logo, so that's endearing.

Veracruz has a somewhat unlucky history; it's been attacked and sometimes occupied repeatedly during past wars, including once by the USA during the Mexican War. Best read up on the city's history, particularly the USA's role. People might appreciate you knowing that sort of thing.

Good luck.
